Male-Thoddoo Ferry Schedule
The cheapest way to get from Malé to Thoddoo is the MTCC public ferry, route 303. It is slow, it runs only a few days a week, and the timetable depends on the day. For most guests it is a budget option for flexible travel plans, not the main way to arrive.
What is the MTCC 303 ferry timetable?
| Direction | Days | Departure | Arrival |
|---|---|---|---|
| Malé to Thoddoo | Monday, Thursday | 09:00 | 16:20 |
| Thoddoo to Malé | Sunday, Wednesday | 06:30 | 14:10 |
The boat calls at Rasdhoo and Ukulhas on the way, which is why the trip takes about 7 hours 20 minutes. It does not run in stormy weather. MTCC can change the timetable, so check it on the MTCC website or at the ticket office before you plan around it. Ticket prices are set by MTCC, and we do not quote them here because they change.
Is the ferry a good choice for you?
The ferry suits travellers who do not mind a long day on the water and can arrive on Monday or Thursday. Most seats are used by local residents, and the deck and seating are basic. Pick it if the fare matters more than time.
If your flight lands on another day, or you want to reach the island in about an hour, take the speedboat instead: it leaves Velana Airport at 16:00 every day except Friday and costs $35 per person. There is also a seaplane on Thursdays and Saturdays. Compare all three on the page How to get to Thoddoo from Malé.
Whichever boat you take, our team meets you at the Thoddoo pier, and the transfer to the hotel is free. Write to us on WhatsApp with your arrival date and we will tell you which option fits. You can also read how long each route takes in Distance from Male to Thoddoo.
