Nearby islands
We are not afraid to say that the island of our guesthouse RelaxResidence Thoddoo is the BEST island close to the airport. All other options are either several times more expensive with the same level of service, or options without the “bounty” and other attributes of luxury vacation for which you are basically going here.
Why not choose Male?
After all, the closest island for tourists will be Male itself, where the international airport is located. But Male is a rather dirty island, where it is difficult to find the nature that is in abundance on any other smaller island.
Distant Islands
Here everything depends on your budget. If you have extra money for a flight (yes, yes, a flight), then you can choose any island that is located at the maximum distance from Male and feel like “Robinson Crusoe” in the depths of the Indian Ocean.
But flying to distant islands by seaplane is not a cheap pleasure. An hour-long flight will cost about $150-200 per person. That is, to all the expenses on the trip, you can safely add $1,000 for transfers within the country. If you can afford it, then all roads are open to you.
